Taking a look back at women who have written in regards to the feminist movement, we see how much of an impact they have made. We see women like Mary Prince and Mary Wollstonecraft who gain support through their works of literature and inspire so many other women to follow in their steps. They both focus on issues that regard them the most however they both relate back to the overall movement: Feminism. Women of many statures have been degraded by the misconception that all us women are good for is being a “trophy” wife or to work around the house or tend to our spouse and children. This idea of feminism sparked change and new growth of women’s roles in society. We no longer follow what is expected of us, but we make our own path, and this wouldn’t have been possible without the women who helped keep this fight going.
This is a good ideal to link to the text we had read from Wollstonecraft, the rising of Feminism in literature and growing through their support through other things. However, it would be great to have another example or two of other women that did something similar to this, regardless of the two great ones you left from the two texts we had read. Really like the summary that was provided of the points of both reads that we had gone over in class, and the closing statement rounds it out to a final idea! Perhaps a question for the readers would be great, leaving them something in their head to mull over.
